Hello, I'm Jeff, the head-Smacker-honcho. Licensing our new version is much
easier – after an animation plays, a note is displayed that basically says
"This was compressed with Smacker." If you don't mind this notice, then you
are free to distribute the player (or scriptor) to anyone, anywhere. If you
like to distribute a version that doesn't have this notice, then you can
license it for $995.00 for one use, or $1995.00 for unlimited use.
If you're a software developer, we also have an awesome SDK that you can use
to intregrate Smacker directly into your product.

Hi,
I just received your documentation via the mail. I did not see this. The
pricing was (at least to me) unclear.
Here is what I got out of it.
I can pay $195 for the compression utilities. I then assume the player is
included for my use. According to your statment above I can use the scripting
and the player if I can cope with the Smacker statement. This is good! this
means I can distribute a shareware game with smacker. Please make this as clear
as possible.
Also I would like info on what the scripting language includes. Does it support
mouse hotspots etc.
Thanks,
Brian R. Gunnison
Brian:
Yes, the scriptor has hot spots, mouse cursors, transparent animations, etc
,etc. Download SmackD.exe from this forum and it will give you a good example.

Cool, does the unlicensed smackply blurb after every .fli? If I create a
branching script will it play uninterrupted?
Brian:
The notice only appears at the very end of a script, when it exits back to
DOS.
Thanks,

Jeff,
Thanks for the info.
