Greetings, I am currently embarking upon two missions: 1.) To cultivate new clients via Compuserve. 2.) To seek full-time employment (should #1 be unfruitful <g>). I have been using 3D Studio for nearly two years, and am experienced in creating animations for videotape, as well as flics. Interested parties can receive a copy of my demo tape by contacting me by e-mail or at the phone number below. Thank you. Paul D. Sanford LEVEL 5 (701) 232-1295 CIS # 75144,2354

Hiya Paul, I thought you were working freelance, not easy hey! Too bad they don't pay you for the StudioCity work. I'd be interested in seeing your demo tape. There's a good possibility that there will soon be work here in Paris if you were interested. I hope to catch up with you at next years SIGGRAPH. That's a MUST! DaviD "continent hopping" GouID

David, Yep, the freelancing is pretty thin up here (North Dakota, somewhat like the Aussie outback <g>). A few big companies, who stick with their in-house people or big city animation houses, and lots of small companies who are very interested until they find out it costs more than radio. Everyone around me is scratching their heads… the video dudes and ad agencies love my stuff, but nothing ever gets produced. Most of my jobs have been for friends and family, at super-reduced prices. Sheeeesh, my rates are already rock bottom. It's cheap to live here, and I work from my home, so I assume my rates are about the lowest out there. That's why I'd like to pick up more CIS contacts. I've had a few small jobs come my way, but not enough to fill the local gap. I'd love to do the StudioCity stuff full-time for $, but it'd be such a mess organizing it unless Autodesk took over as a sponsor. Not to mention the hurt feelings if an individual rose to the top to gain extra benefits. Kevin was convinced I'd be summoned to San Rafael months ago, sipping Pina Coladas with Jonas whilst Autodesk interns fanned us with hundred dollar bills. <g> I really felt left out missing SIGGRAPH, I was looking forward to meeting you and so many others. Lack of cash was the reason. Can you view an NTSC VHS tape? E-mail me your address and guestimated air mail postage and I'll send you one if you can. I've got to get some stuff up here in the libs. I'd have to rerender most of it, cuz I've been focusing on video… way too dark, etc., for flics or stills. Paul S.

So, you back in Paris now? How did the rest of your trip go? What did you end up seeing?
