Dave Thanks for the upload. My findings: 1FWIW Is it me or does page 108 of the tutorial (Position options) call for "Auto reset source not checked (OFF)" ? 2. For whatever reason my cloning with the polygon tool *will not* work the first time you draw the polygon. It does however work the second time, but the 'clone section' is a bit random and seems to being sampled from anywhere in the selected source, rather than always resemble closely the area originally selected. Any tool settings buried deep in the anim.ini file that controls the behavior of the polygon tool that need to be checked out? 3. Using the airbrush now works as advertised (Auto reset source option responsible?) How about the rest of you "students"? best Al

>> 1FWIW Is it me or does page 108 of the tutorial (Position options) call for "Auto reset source not checked (OFF)" ? << yes. the documentation is incorrect. if Autoreset is not toggled, the image origin is used throughout ink applications. you can verify this by opening CHEETAH.BMP as a source image, making sure autoreset is off, and using a tool with Clone Ink in the diver image. makes sense program-wise… just a glitch in the docs. >> 2. Using the airbrush now works as advertised (Auto reset source option responsible?) << autoreset positional option is strickly for Clone Ink. curious… what wasn't airbrush doing before (without Clone Ink use)? p.s. glad you've got it behaving. -dave

Dave Thanks for the clarifications. The Airbrush tool just wasn't working previously with the clone ink and autoreset position >off<. It wors fine with color ink. I'm close to finishing my review of Astudio and am liking the program *much* more in the 1.0c version. If the WIN95 version improves on that, Adesk has about a B+ rated product in my book. (version 1.0 might better have been let stew a bit longer though). I'll send you a copy of the review when it's done E-mail if you're interested. Best Al
