#Seagate Program 9G NOW
5 messages in this thread
The Seagate Update program has commenced. For this round, owners of Seagate
Elite 9 GB drives with any firmware revision other than ASA1 4304 should call
NewTek Customer Service at 1-800-847-6111 (913-228-8000), for an RMA. All
Drives must be returned in proper Seagate packaging. If you do not have your
original drive packaging, request packaging when you call NewTek Customer
Service, and packaging will be dispatched to you.
When You Call: Be sure to ask for the Seagate Return program representative.
The customer or dealer is responsible for shipping to the address that will be
supplied with the RMA and boxes. The shipped drives will be updated to the
correct revision, and returned directly to the customer or dealer who was
issued the original RMA. Please make sure appropriate insurance is placed on
the drives when shipping them. Neither NewTek nor Seagate will be responsible
for any loss, theft, or damage to hard drives.

Chuck,
I repeat, is this just 9G Seagates or 4G also?
JUST 9G drives, as the message says. Seagate is still working on the 4G drive
firmware.
Chuck.
I read somewhere that there is a way to find out where you have asa1 or asa2
code….something printed on the back of the drive….???
You told me on the phone that ASA2 code would not work…
I just bought 2 9 gig seagates 4304rev…I hope they are asa1 code.
My Dealer did not know anything about ASA1 or ASA2 stuff.
Will be looking forward to the update for the 4 gig ones.
Ed
So far, all 9G Seagate Elites shipped are ASA1, and that is not likely to
change, as far as I know.
Chuck.
