Howdy! How does one create more shadow contrast? I'm currently using a .25 Map Bias with a default sample range (3). Shadows are OK, however I'd like to see more black vs. grays. I'm afraid that increasing lighting (which may not do what I want anyhow) I'll start washing out my images. Ideas? Thanks…Kev.

Kevin, >> How does one create more shadow contrast? << somethings to try: 1) lower ambient light (0-9 luma), lower other lights besides the shadow casting.

Don't forget lights w/ a negative multiplier will act as "dark-lights" and actually suck light out from an area…. Dave

David, >> Don't forget lights w/ a negative multiplier will act as "dark-lights" and actually suck light out from an area…. << That's a good one that I've tried before too. I did have a few more suggestions but some people walked in my office so I had to leave it at #1. 2.) Raytraced shadows usually result in harder, crisper shadows with some render time penalty.

Martin: Don't you just _hate_ it when people walk up and expect you to stop CIS'ing to deal with some "work" issue — like they're _paying_ you to be…. Oh, yeah… I guess they are! <g> Dave

David, >> people…expect you to stop CIS'ing to deal with some "work" issue << I usually silence them by saying I am where I am today largely because of my "activities" on CI$. Least I'm not looking at porn on the Web <g>.

>Least I'm not looking at porn on the Web <g>.< According to some of these "news" shows that is the only reason any of us online people got computers.
