Any ideas on donwnloading using Term software with an Amiga 1200.

Joan, I'm not familiar with TERM, because I use AutoPilot for CompuServe, and have never used TERM. However, I do download from CompuServe with term programs occasionally. Just in general: (1) Set your terminal program for 8-n-1 (8 bits, no parity, 1 stop bit.) (2) Set your protocol for B or B+ if you have it. If not, you will probably do best with Kermit or YModem. (3) Sign on and find the program you want to download. (4) At the 'Disposition!" prompt, type DOW (5) Follow the menus to select the protocol – choosing the one you set in your term program. (6) When CIS asks, Name for your computer to use? type both the path and the filename you want used on your disk, such as DF0:NEWFILE.LHA (7) If you have B protocols the transfer should begin automatically. If not, use the keys needed for your term program to start the transfer. —Betty

=>Set your protocol for B or B+ if you have it. Uh, Betty, you may have wanted to specify xprquickb.library or xprbplus.library. Avoids confusion and the question which begs "OK, but just what is B or B+?" <g> BTW, which protocol does AP use? Plan to do a little house-cleaning on the ole HD and want to rid myself of a slew of useless and little used .library(s). Trent One of the "Frozen Chosen"

Trent, Whether you are using the XPR libraries or not, the protocol is either B, QuickB or B+. Variations of the same protocol. B is the Original, QuickB uses send-ahead, and B+ adds the ability to begin an interrupted download at the point where it was broken off. But basically, they are the same. AP uses B+, the latest of the three. And it does NOT require the XPR libraries. —Betty

Hokay. Just that my protocols name is 'xprbplus' and I just thought that that was required. Thanks for the info (now I can ax that useless quickb.. <g>)
