#GP FAX Help
5 messages in this thread
I have version 2.01 of GP Fax (dated 2.5.92). I downloaded the GPFAX patch for
2.01 – 2.34. The doc says that my version is the one for that particular patch
(generic A modem). When I applied the patch, however, I got the message
"Incorrect version of original file. This patch can not be applied to it". So,
perhaps one of the other two versions would work. So I downloaded B and the
Supra (out of desperation) and the same thing happened. How can I get these to
work?
Also, in my current version, when I connect to a Fax machine, I get a serial
break and then I get disconnected, before the fax is even sent. Any ideas would
be appreciated. I need to get my fax operational ASAP. TIA,

You should probably pay to upgrade to the latest version which can't be done
ith a patch (it is too different). Mail your original disk and visa/mc nu ber
+ exp date to GPSoft and they'll return the upgrade. I'm not sure on th
upgrade price, though, and Greg is probablyy not back from holiday yet so t at
you can ask.
Kevin,
You may have more than one patch in the file you d/l'd. If for example
there is a version between 2.01 and 2.34, you must apply the middle patch
first to 2.01, then apply the 2.34 patch to the version you just created.

Thanks. I'll look and see, thought the file is named "GPFax201A234"…
Also make sure you're operating on an uncrunched file (and one thathasn't
been crunched)
