Hi to all, I`m thinking about HiresQFX. We`re makeing animations and video productions and for some things we`re using Photoshop. But I would like to make some batches to process sequences of images. That`s the reason why HiresQFX sounds interesting. I have to deinterlace many frames and now I do it with Photoshop. I know that there is a IPAS but I think HiresQFX would be better if it has this feature. Who has experiences with HiresQFX (espacially the Hollywood professionals)? Any comment is very very welcome…. Thanks in advance. Michael

Michael, John at Anigrafix sung the praises of QFX often here on the forum. You might want to e-mail him at 72440,3046. He uploaded a demo version here in the library too, search HQFX. Paul S.

Hi, besides H-QFX, there's also Micrografx Picture Publisher do to batch jobs. It's a cute program, fast, stable, well-designed user-interface, and the batch-functionality really does a good job for animation. BTW, over here in Germany, it's very very cheap, the competetive upgrade offer is about 200$. Bye Jan / Imagelab

I know Picture Publisher as a good program but think HiresQfx has some advantages espacially in the area of very large images. We don`t make high res images very often but when it`s a pain to load them in Photoshop. I was told that HiresQFX plays with big files. BTW: I can get HiresQFX for Windows(NT) for about 500$ (special upgrade offer from my dealer). And that sounds like a very good offer… Michael

Hi Jan, I`m writing from Oberhausen, NRW, Germany. You might have seen something from us in TV (Erotica 94 trailer, Geierwally music video and soon to come: Ballermann 6 music video and commercial spot. And if you have the german 3ds demo reel you see something from VisArt, my company. Michael

Hi Michael, funny, great, quel surprise! … My company, Imagelab, is located in Stuttgart, and we have done, among several other, the Animations and some postpros of Das Modul-Computerliebe, (the last clip on the german 3ds-reel, the one with the guy in the red modul), and the postpro/recording of Erotic-Sex on the phone. Both made it to HeavyRotation-A in VIVA, Computerliebe also on MTV/ Europe, and entered the german media control chart top-ten. As far as I know, besides Vivid pro, Imagelab, some guys somewhere in Bavaria and you, there are very few proffessional studios using 3ds for clip-production in ol'Germany, and maybe we should coordinate our marketing efforts together. (the german 3ds-tape is NO good marketing for my company, in first hand 'cause they listed the production company, (media mutant, they don't even have a PC), not the animation comp (my one, we have some PC <BG>), and then, it's hard to say, there is too much "not so well-done (hum…trying to stay polite) stuff on the tape… Maybe we should get in contact over the phone. I could also introduce you to Geer, one of the owners of Vivid pro (if you don't know each another already): Imagelab / 0711-264912 / tel -2864252 / fax bye, and keep up the good work, Jan Yorick von Krogh

Jan, Do you know the guys at Upstart in Wiesbaden? They're doing a lot of broadcast work with 3DS, and some very interesting creative work too. Michele

Hi Michele, heaad talking about them, but i didn't see a piece of work yet. They aren't on the german 3ds reel either, isn't it? Jan / Imagelab

Jan, I don't know about any German 3DS reel. I recently went to Europe to videotape interviews with hotshot 3DS users, and Upstart was recommended to me by another longtime 3DS user, Ingo Neumann. They've done some things for German Television so you've probably seen their work. How can I get a copy of the German 3DS reel? If you can get me one, I'll send you a copy of the European reel when it's finished being edited, in a few weeks. PAL is okay. Michele

Hi Michele, yope, there is a special german 3ds-reel, but it's mostly not that .uhh. -hotshot. Many rotating 3d charts, and dxf/architecture conversion, few artistic and broadcast stuff. I could send you one -whats your reallife address? Bye, Jan / Imagelab P.S. BTW: Isn't Ingo living around Stuttgart those days?

Jan, Yes, Ingo moved to Stuttgart a few weeks ago. Have you seen any of his software? The guy wrote a stripped-down version of 3DS as one of his graduate projects — from scratch! He does this kind of stuff for breakfast, then writes REALLY hard stuff at lunchtime. Michele
