Just installed win 95. Ani Studio starts to load then I get the old flipper error. Is there anyway to make it run with 95. LU

FWIW I don't know what the problems your having stem from, but FWIW, I've gotten Anim studio to run under Win95, so don't give up! Al

" I've gotten Anim studio to run under Win95" Hi Al – did you do anything special? Or just install it? Does cut and paste work properly? I'd heard that you might run into problems there if you manage to get it running. Thanks for helping out the customer! Nik

Nik I haven't had a chance to put Anim Studio through it's paces yet, as I've had my hands full with WIN 95's "easy upgrade". I am able to start AS, load a file and play it. I'll post further results ASAP. Probably tonight. FWIW, I just reinstalled AS after getting WIN95 up and running. I am using the updated version of AS (1.c or whatever it's called) Al Al

But how? Can you tell? I really want to know that! Dennis..

Dennis I'm not quite sure what It is about my configuration under 95 that allows me to open up the program, but further looking has proved that many functions are crippled under Win95. I've gone back to running it under 3.11. I am interested in the new 32 bit versions of the VFW codecs that were added to my list of compresion possibilities when Win95 was installed. Anyone have any info on how much better or worse) they are than the 16 bit versions? If they are better quality, I may try doing some compression in AS running fron Win95, but do the editing running from Win 3.11….. Al

Well, I am using AS under Win 3.11 with 32s on and it works fine.. and I guess we have to wait for the reversion for Win95 from Autodesk!! dl

Dennis- I managed to get it going in Win95 by running ANIMATOR.EXE instead of SPASH.EXE (which is the icon that gets set up in the program group). It still doesn't look right though, and I can't help but wonder what I'm missing, since this is the first time I've used Animator. -Dan Kasun Prudential Service Company

One reply to this thread states that he's running under Win95. I don't know how to duplicate his success though. Also, he may not have full functionality – perhaps Cut and Paste doesn't work, for instance. The best thing is to make sure you've registered your copy of AAStudio and wait for the automatic Win95 compatible release to be sent out. No date has been mentioned though.

Nik, <<The best thing is to make sure you've registered your copy of AAStudio and wait for the automatic Win95 compatible release to be sent out. >> Sorry to bug you here, but I still haven't received my automatic maintenance update, "1c1". I sent in my registration immediately after I upgraded from Animator Pro in June. The program shows a lot of potential, and I would appreciate the opportunity to use the latest version. Thanks in advance., -Marc
