FYI: I called Digimation today to order my LenZFX upgrade. No dice. It has been delayed "until the end of the month." They wouldn't get any more specific than that. The woman claimed they were waiting on the manuals (seems to be a common excuse with software developers). At Siggraph I was told "it ships September 15 no matter what." Of course, I was also told that the field-fix would be free. Oh well. Harley

I got the same message to. It seems that most IPAS developers have pretty lame customer service when comes to telling the truth about when an IPAS will be released/upgrading. I am still waiting for a final release of puppeteer which was promised to me about 9 months ago. Also when I bought Metareyes I was told that ver 2 would be released about two week after I bought it and that was 3 months ago. Also still waiting for the Field Render in LenZFX. It is real frustrating trying to makes plans when the IPAS developers won't give you a straight answer when they will release upgrades. Right now I have close to $1000 worth of useless IPAS routines because the upgrades or final realeases are not out yet (Puppetter which has no real manuals and is really unstable and LenZFX which is really cool but because it can't render to fields is almost useless gonig to video). Well enough venting. Peter Watje Spectral Imaging

Peter, this LenZFX problem, does it affect PAR and PVR? I have version 1.6. the that came out just before Inferno, and I'm about to get PAR or PVR (depending how cheap I can get a Par system now LOL), does the field problem stop me using lenZFX on a PAR system then? I was completly unaware of this as I'm still using a Genlock and flc Playback, Matt Allen 🙂

Greg, It affects the rendering quality immensly especially if your animation contains motions. I have LenZFX 1.3 and have to render to frames when going to tape and any quick motion is not smooth. Peter Watje Spectral Imaging

Greg, Digimation now says vaguely that the fix will be released "at the end of the month." I was told it was because they were waiting on the manuals. Given this kind of delay, do you think the manual will have color plates? Oh yeah, it isn't a fix, its an "upgrade." $95.00 Harley

As in upgrada to Inferno etc, or $95 dollars to jsut fix the bug, how long can it take to make a green bound manual? perhaps they have word on a 286 🙂 Greg 🙂
