#optimize \

Anyone! I need help. I created a huge file of intertwining , morphing
spirals with the python routine but my project file size is 75 me meg. I
bought optimize to cut down on the number of faces but after optimizing 30 or
so objects my computer freezes when i try to save the project. It is not a ram
problem, i have 65 ram, it is not a hard drive problem fo i have almost a gig
free on the drive. I think the optimization is corrupting some of the meshes.
I am able to run the 3d studio in every way after i optimize, i just can't
save. Somebody help, I need to get this animation to a client and i don't
want to render for the next 140 hours straight.
Damien,
I've never heard of a project that big! Egads! I can tell you that 64 megs will
not be enough. Maybe even 128 won't either if you're running a lot of IPAS's.
You might be running into a problem with the face limit. Check the 3ds.set file
and up it to the max.
Also, send a note to Martin Foster of Metrolight. He's an expert.

Damien,

My best suggestion is to save the project after optimizing every few object(s)
– I've had crashes with optimize too.
Also, if you are using Python for morphing these objects won't they have
different vertex counts after optimizing? This would prevent morphing.
G'day Damien,
I also have had a few problems with Optimize crashing after doing one
object after another. Sometimes after 4 objects, sometime less…
Just save after optimising each object, it is a little annoying, but it works.
It sounds as if your project is still a little large though…..
