Greg, Here's something that might help you…

Scott,
<<Has anyone had experience getting a ProE or ProE Jr. file into 3d studio??>>
Do it all the time. But I must add in a pretty round about fashion.
I Iges out from Pro-E. Iges in to Autosurf. Iges back out. Iges into Autocad
and back out in dxf form to 3ds. (simple eh?)
It actually works quite nice if you set it up right.

Autodesk produce an IGES 5.2 translator for ACAD R13. With this Autosurf would
not be required, I think.
Syndesis has a converter from ProE (I don't know about Jr) to 3DS.
We wrote our own…you need to massage ProE's render output file (.stl format,
if I remember correctly) into 3DS's .asc format. Both are polygonalized
vertex/face lists. If you are tricky, you can even get the color information
to transfer.

Try a company in the UK called Envisage (+44) 165 666 2414, they have a utility
that converts an STL file into a .3DS file – I preseume ProE Jr has STL output.

I'm not sure if Jr. does or not but I'm working in ProE so it doesnt matter.
Thanks for the info., I'll check out Envisage.

There is a free STL-DXF converter at http://www.viewpoint.com in the converters
section. Viewpoint is now maintaining the former Avalon site.
