[Reply to message #187773, which is no longer available] Mitch, I just read your ASOFT Forum message of 28-Aug-95. (I've been buried under deadlines for weeks and finally found a moment to check out the forum.) I'm interested in your experience with the ATI Mach 64 video card. Are you easily able to see your 3DS renderings in 24-bit color? Is your card equipped with 2mb RAM? I'll soon be testing a new Pentium which comes with one of these cards and am curious to know how well it works with 3DS? Any special suggestions about driver setup, etc.? Thanks, Lee

PMJI, but I've got two Graphics ProTurbos, both 2meg, and they work just fine! One is VESA on my 486/66, the other is PCI/P90. There is (or should still be) a file called antive.zip on this board that's to fix a little bug in the PCI drivers. But then maybe ATI has solved the problem itself, I don't know. The only symptom is that 3DS takes an unusually long time to load. If this happens, get antive.zip and put the .com file in your autoexec. Fixes the problem quick & easy! Let me know if you need it & it's not still available. SCL

One of my systems is running the ATI Mach64 w 2meg of VRam and it works great with 3ds 3 & 4 using the Vibrant drivers. Yes the render display, materials editor and main display will all work in true color modes. Good card. I just got a new system with the Matrox Millennium, but the drivers are not fully functional yet. The guys at Vibrant said it will be a SCREAMER when they complete them. I also hear that the Stealth 64 with the new S3 968 chip is supposed to outrun the ATI. Mitch

Mitch, Thanks for your helpful reply about the ATI card. It's included in a new system we've just received. I'll try it out. Gratefully, Lee
