Does anyone know if a PAR ".ANI" file export will load onto the new Perception
disk. I have several backups of old animations from the PAR that I mabe wan't
to use when switching to perception!!

Great name. The Par .ANI file will not be compatible with the PVR file format.
There is a way to get them across, but it's not fun.
1) Export TGA files from the PAR to your local disk
2) Create a IFL file and render them as a background from
VPost with the new the new aspect ratio
3) Import them into the PVR
This is the only work around at the moment.
