#NT 'Atdisk' problem,help

Help!
I am having a problem with "Atdisk" not starting in Windows NT. What is it?
What does it mean? How do I fix it?
NT starts and appears to be functioning ok, except a program I need to run says
"Bad Display Configuration". I have an ATI Graphics Pro Turbo in it. It looks
good. 24Bit 800×600 @ 70 Hz.
It used to work two months ago. I haven't run NT since then. Since that time,
I have had a controller card go bad. It has been replaced with a different
one. I have tried two different controller cards. One at least works, the
other says HD failure. They are both good on another system.
All help appreciated.

Try running NT in standard VGA and see if it works. Also ATI has the 1.55
version drivers out. You can get them here on cserve.
Also, you weren't clear about you config. Do you dual boot (Win and NT)? Dd you
reformat the hard disk to NTSF or is it still FAT? What controller do you have
and what system is it in?

I am dual booting to DOS /NT.
I was able to get it to work. I found someone else with the same problem on
the WINNT forum. It explained to just turn off the Atdisk since it was
probably using adapti. I did, and it worked. The software that wouldn't run
was complaining about wanting to run in 8 bit mode instead of 24 bit mode. So
all is working now.
I did not reformat to NTFS. It is FAT. Controller is a very cheap ($20)
generic one. It is in a generic 486-66 system. I may upgrade it to the
Pentium 83Mhz when it comes out, or a 486-100.
Thanks for trying to help! It can be sooooo frustrating sometimes with
computers! I typically try to not change things unless I have too, but with
MAX coming, I needed to do this before too late.

I've got a nice, brand new P90 board and processor I'll let you have real cheap
(with warranty!).
Do yourself a favor and upgrade your hardware. Granted I know how it is with
the money thing but only a Pentium will be able to do the real-time rendering
with MAX.

BTW, do you have any idea why in NT, I cannot locate my second 1 Gig
partition, while in DOS with Disk Manager, it is there?
Any help on this is appreciated.

Disk Manager as in the software you load in DOS to support a drive that your
rom won't support? If so, that's the problem. NT can't see a Disk Manager
translated partition.
