So I'm trying to complete the tutorial without being able to make the diver
dissapear so I use a normal color ink and the spray gun to cover him over. It
looks like crap but I'll go with it for now.
I get the idea that I'll try the clone ink w/ the spray gun. I choose the
point above and to the left of the diver and then begin spraying over where he
was. He comes back! Like magic he come shining thru the color ink I just
sprayed on him.
Any ideas?

a quick alternative to the clone ink blending is to simply use lasso tool and
grab a chunk of the area above the diver, copy it to clipboard, and paste it
over the diver. a little jumble ink and a little smoothing ink over this area
does the trick nicely too. there are several ways to hide the diver.

if he comes in exactly where he was originally, this makes sense as the source
is still pointing to the file's original image and origin.

Well, then, I AM confused. If clone ink means that it'll take the selected
image and and paste it over the selected area then no wonder the diver didn't
go away. The selected image was the same as the image to be pasted over. What
am I missing?

start off by opening both the diver image and CHEETAH.BMP (two separate
images). use cheetah as the source for clone ink and play around with toggles.
this will help gain some insight into clone ink's toggles and functionality.

it can be a little confusing at first… but try out two different images first
and see how the airbrush functions (or the rectangle tool which may require to
identical applications) using varying Clone Ink toggle settings. Once the
different images make sense (more obvious applications of ink), then the same
image appplication will make sense. the autoreset function enables the user to
spray seemlessly in the awme image using another area of the same image.very
kewl.
