HI
{What you need is the Animation Support Libraries, without a doubt! This
developers kit
includes C and Visual Basic Programmers reference manuals for the Windows
Player,
Fliclib and File Format manuals, Code examples and other support files, POCO
and POE
reference manuals, and more. You can order this kit directly from Autodesk by
calling
800-964-6432. The kit costs about $25.}
I would like to order this but i'm in the UK help!!! How would this be
possible!!??

>>I need help with the aavga,dll m why doesn't it work on win95 ???
Because it wasn't written to run under win95? <wry grin>
They just announced Animator Studio for Win95. Let me check and see it that
means they have updated this file.
LAM
As far as I know, the AAPLAY.DLL and AAVGA.DLL are not part of Animator Studio
at all. That means those files would not have been updated.
The problem with WIN95 (and WIN NT while we are at it) is that the Windows
player is a 16 bit application, and was not written for a 32 bit environment.
Thus the player should start under these platforms, but it is very slow.
very, very, slow. (did I mention how slow it is?)
At present, Autodesk has not released a 32 bit version of the Windows player,
so there is no current work around if you want to use an Autodesk player.

Sorry Larry and Devendra,
There are no plans to migrate the aavga.dll or aaplay.dll to Win95.
Considering that the flic techonlogy has gone for four years old, I would
encourage existing AAPLAY developers to consider using one or more the many
other playback technologies. For example, Autodesk Animator Studio makes use of
VFW exclusively (using AVI drivers for backwards FLC compatiblity).

Microsoft Video for Windows is one, and Smacker is another. There was a third
that was recently mentioned in this message section, but now I can't find it.
Maybe someone else reading this remembers?

information.

Thanks for the referral Larry.
As noted Media!Lab is a multimedia animation C/C++ graphics programming toolkit
for Windows that supports FLC/FLI and AVI video (along with many other
capabilities). Additional information and a demo is available here online – GO
METAGR, LIB 12, download MLINFO.ZIP and/or MLDEMO.ZIP (these files are also
available on our Web site http://www.metagraphics.com). Please let us know if
you have any questions or if we can be of help.

Jack Davis/Metagraphics
Do a search in the libraries for the keyword "play". There are several product
announcements out there for various types of players.
