We're considering developing a new product that would allow 3D Studio R4 to run full screen with native video drivers under Windows NT and possibly Windows 95. The product would allow users to task switch between 3D Studio and Windows programs. Before we invest a lot in research and development, I would like to get some feedback from 3D Studio users as to what the value of such a product would be. Specifically, what would you consider to be a fair price and what percentage of 3D Studio users do you think would buy such a product? You may respond here or send email to SUGGEST@VIBRANT.COM if you like. I can't promise that we'll do anything at this point. Just putting out feelers. Thanks for your help. Linden (Vibrant Graphics)

Linden, What would be the use of it when in 5 months most 3DS users will be running 3DS MAX? Mark

Hi Mark, <<.. when in 5 months most 3DS users will be running 3DS MAX? >> FWIW I'd love to be able to switch between the two over the next few years without having to reboot. jonas[adesk]

Nifty Idea. I'll probably keep 3DS4 around to run some of my scripts. Would it include network support? If so, I'd pay about $200 or so for such a product. Much more than that, and the reboot switch starts to look more attractive. — James — Choreo Motion —

I know I won't be switching to MAX right away because my IPAS routines won't work with it and God only knows when they will be updated AND how much that will cost us. Moving to NT with R4 would be very nice, especially if we can use multiple processors, I would probably pay $200 for that ability. In perspective, I would probably NOT use your product for more than a year, because MAX looked awfully good to me at SIGGRAPH.
