#Conman

Rick, I have reported it to the author already, yes it may be specific to the
2000 running WB 33.59. BobR also mentioned to me that he had problems with
Conman on his 1000, don't know the specifics I can't think of anything to test
for this other than what I have already told you. <Glenn
Glenn,
The problems I mentioned were with an earlier release of ConMan (V.98 I
think) and involved an erroneous reporting of out-of-memory by the 'More'
program that came on the CBM Extras Disk (part of the 1.2 enhancer package).
Don't know if this problem still exists with ConMan 1.0, since I haven't used
it.

Bob, the author specifically cited More as a problem with earlier versions. If
I recall correctly, he said any device which opened RAW: ran into trouble. I
haven't tried it either, but I expect it's been fixed.
Rick
Rick, I know the problem with 'more' was well known, and most likely fixed in
the newer version. I only mentioned it to Glenn since he seemed to be having
problems with glitched memory lists and had tracked it down to Conman. Similar
type of problem, so I suspected that it might be related. Just fishing (guess
it got away!).

Rick, Bob, Seems that what I was experiencing was that Conamn 1.0 was the
Catalyst for a problem that was already present due to Setfont 1.0. Setfont
did not directly cause many problems that were easy to trace to it. One of
them Bob, was the Preferences problem I told you about. ( I meant Setfont 1.1 )
Conman caused the damage that had already been done by Setfont 1.1 to become
readily visible. I have now run Conman 1.0 w/o seeing any of the problems I
had with it when Setfont 1.1 was also in use. Talk about pulling my hair out
trying to figure this out! Hopefully now I have found the source of my
problems! <Glenn
Oh??? So SetFont was the proximate cause? I use SetFont to install a font
_once_ on bootup, but maybe I have an earlier version. Glad to hear it isn't
ConMan's fault, as I'd hate to give that program up; it's a beauty. That and
FuncKey (ooh, that's right, I still owe Anson his $5.00…)
If you determine the problem is absolutely not in ConMan I know I (and William)
would both appreciate it if you let him know that everything's okay.
Rick
Glenn,
Good detective work. Glad you found the source of the problems. Can you
explain what Setfont was mucking up?
