Chris – what kind of outcrops are you looking for? NYS is pretty big (for a NEastern state) and there are many great outcrops. You have checked out roadside geology of ny already haven't you? Steven

Steve, Thanks for the reply. Yes, I've a long-time follower of the Roadside Geology series. Unfortunately, a lot of times the directions are vague or the really good outcrops are not included. I have lots of other field guides that also suffer from the same problems. Being a teacher, I need up to date info, and outcrops that are 'winners'. When you take a load of students on a trip, they can get bored pretty quick unless they can find cool stuff relatively easy. The field guide I am putting together is for all teachers in New York State to use, so that the collecting area does not have to be in any one location. I only wanted each contributor to give me their best spot, hence the name of the guide, 'Our favorite Outcrops'. Chris
