There are good inexpensize plotter out there (<$500, B size). Just keep your eyes open for the sales…

Thank you for the message. I know almost nothing about plotters, can you please tell me what "B" size is? Though I have never actually gone "plotter shopping" the only one I have ever seen advertised is the Epson HI80. Can you give me any other brand names? Does anyone who sees this message care to comment about good/bad luck with any "inexpensive" plotters. Thanks. Barry

The epson HI 80 sucks. Dont buy it whatever you do. The only one that's any good is worth saving up forget the Roland DXY-980. Both Draw and Draw plus were developed in tandem with that particular plotter and it really is the best value on the market. The Apple 410 also works but any of those cheap plotters are like buying a cheap used car – you spend less initially but only get pissed off in the long run. Pebber Brown/Aegis /

I can always reccomend the Gerber Scientific Instruments 4477 flat bed 192" x 60" at $185,000. It will do almost anything. (Sent with a chuckle)!

They have quantity discounts? Anyone interested in a group purchase? 8^) Clay

It only takes them six months to build one to order so you may be tripping over your beard before delivery, but they are definite not a vaporware item at about 1 ton apiece, also when I was at the factory they were building a 35 footer for a shipyard.

Gerber Scientific Instuments, huh? Don`t they make baby food, too? Barry

I`m a little confused by your last message. Did you say that the only one (plotter that is) worth buying was the Roland DXY-980? Or did you say forget it? Thanks. Barry

Barry: He said that the Roland DXY was the one to buy and that their (Aegis) development was done with that as one of the plotters. 73, bill

No, the Roland DXY980 is a good plotter but it's not the only one to buy. The Epson plotter is a great little A size plotter. I've seen the B size Apple plotters on sale for amazing prices as well. I will say that for some reason it's HARD to use HP plotters with the Amiga, because of handshaking stuff. Once you … 1. Get the HP taking XON/XOFF with the Amiga. 2. Or get a proper cable for RTS/CTS operation. You will be o.k.
