A2000+hard-cards

I would like to get comments from anyone who has installed a
hard card in the IBM side of the A2000 (with bridge card).
Is it satisfactory for use by the Amiga side? Is speed as
good as a hard disk on the Amiga side, or at least acceptable?
What make and model did you use? Any problems?

bridgecard. The lack of harddisk was mainly due to price ($1000 at my dealer).
So I went out on thur. and bought a NEC harddisk and ADAPTEC RLL controler
giving me 30Megs to divide up. The only problem I had is I had hoped I could
kludge the drive inside similar to a hardcard. Well the 2000 isn't quite tall
enough. I ended up pulling the 5 1/4 floppy out (it is sitting on its side next
to the 2000.
Sorry about the above overly detailed ramblings. Making a long boring story a
short boring one – I made a 20MEG AMIGA DOS partition and am very happy with
the speed. It seems as fast as dedicated HD's I saw a local user groups. It
sure BEATS THE FLOPPIES !!!!!

The top of your message was cut off. The first I got was part
of a sentence ending in "hardcard". I understand you have the
NEC hard drive and Adaptec controller plugged into the IBM
side, partitioned 20 and 10, and are happy with results.
It is good to hear I will not need a separate hard drive for
each side. However, I was thinking, if you had one on each
side, you could back up the Amiga side with the partition on
the IBM side! Thanks for the info.

Dan -As you mentioned As soon as they work the bugs out of the A2090
hard disk controller and prices come down I would like to mount a 40 or so Meg
drive dedicated to the Amiga side.
Until then all seems well (knock silicon).
