#Amiga Transactor

Nick, how will those of us who presently subscribe to the Transactor be
handled if we want to switch over? Just let our present sub run out? Sounds
like a great mag, if it carries on the tradition.

Mike, just give us a call (416-764-5273) or send in a sub card from the next
issue of the 8-bit Transactor, which will have a place to check off if you want
to switch to the new one. Won't cost you anything.
Nick
Great! The Amiga offerings in the current mag are superb, but always left me
wanting more.
– Mike
Thanks, Michael. The limited Amiga coverage in the current Transactor has been
frustrating for us too – there's always been more we wanted to put in. Let us
know if there's anything you'd particularly like to see covered in the new
magazine.
Nick
I would like to see some serious material covering Modula-2, having the TDI
compiler. I feel that in some respects it is superior to C for software
development. By the way, to complicate matters my subscription to Transactor is
thru TPUG. Will that give me problems in changing to the new mag? I'll drop the
TPUG membership if necessary.
Mike
Mike, that is a complication. Transactors supplied to TPUG members are handled
completely differently than Transactors you buy from us. Basically, we just
sell TPUG so many copies per issue, and they alone are responsible for what
happens to them after that. I'm not sure if we are able to transfer you to the
Amiga Transactor, but I'm inclined to doubt it. I'll check and let you know,
however. In any case, a sub to the new magazine is 1/2 price till the new year,
so you may want to get both if there's no other way to handle it.
Nick
Oh, by the way, I expect we _will_ be running quite a bit of Modula-2 stuff –
we already have a couple of people working on M2 articles for early issues.
Nick
Nick–
I foolishly lost the address for a sub. Would you mind posting it again?
Sorry. Better yet, if there is an EMAIL place where I can post my Mastercard
number and avoid paper altother, that would be great. Thanks.

Sure, Jim, got your capture buffer open? 🙂
The address for "Transactor for the Amiga" subscriptions is:
Transactor Publishing Inc.
85 West Wilmot Ave #10
Richmond Hill, Ontario
Canada L4B 1K7
Or call (416) 764-5273, 9-5 EST. I'm not sure if we are able to take Visa and
Mastercard orders via E-mail, but I'll check into it and let you know tomorrow.
Nick
Thanks, Nick. Now I need to know what the introductory sub costs so I can make
out my check–though I like Email better (lazy sod that I am). Looking forward
to reading all that over-my-head stuff.
// Jim '
Jim, I've checked into it, and it turns out that taking a sub via E-mail is no
problem. Address it to me, include your Visa or Mastercard number and expiry
date, and of course the address where the magazines are to be sent. By the way,
the cost of the subscription till Jan 1 1988 is $7.50 US, $9.50 Cdn. If you
want more details, there's a file in DL2 called (I think) TRANS.TXT, with
complete information. You still thinking about doing us an article? Keep me
posted, okay?
