Keith — When ever I try to switch to 7E1 the moden will not pickup. If it does it just sits there after conecting. Other term packages work ok for this setup. Do you have any suggestions? Also will the new ACCESS! have IBM ansi? Just thought I'd ask. Hope you have gotten settled after the move. Later JIM

Jim — Hmmmm… what modem are you using? I don't ever use 7E1, but the times that I've tested it, it seems to work ok for me. (just out of curiousity, where/ why do you need 7E1 ?). As for IBM ANSI, v 1.42 has an option that will let you get the graphic char set, as well as a bit better ibm-ansi emulation… if you have a font that has the graphic chars in it (cleanibm.font/8 from over in 'Arts), load it in, then hit Left-Amiga 'h' to enable the upper half of the char set, a message wil print to the screen telling you that the 'Extended Char Set is Enabled'. It does a bit more parsing for ibm-ansi, but it's not complete… it should be more complete in future versions. Keith

Well I'm using an Avetex 2400. I call the US Naval Observatory and they only accept 7E1. I have somw troubles with the ANSI because when the Second Screen comes up the text and background become the same and I have to flip between lace and non-lace to see what is there. If I load a new phone book whith only the 7E1 number in it all is fine. Well Talk At you Later. JIM

Jim: Keith's phone has been out of order for a week or so, I'll pass the message on to him (he works here). Ariel
