Can anyone tell me what driver to use when installing the Matrox MGA Impression Plus(PCI) to 3ds R4. I tried all the supplied Matrox drivers and none of them seem to work. Thanks in advance, Michael

Andrew, where did you get the driver? Is it the one in the 3ds box or did you get it directly from Vibrant?

I'm using the vibrant driver shipped with 3DSr4. My card is the Matrox Impression Plus with the Athena chipset. I have noticed something very peculiar. If I run Windows, exit and then run 3DS, the Matrox card will not work. If I run 3ds from a fresh boot, no problem. Andrew.

I have the Impression+/PCI/4mb and the Impression VLB. What I have found is that when I'm using the Vibrant (doesn't matter what version) driver for the MGA, it WILL NOT sync up right with many monitors unless it supports vesa refresh speeds. STRANGE. I've duplicated this problem by using a NEC 3D, a NEC II, II+, a NOKIA 445x and a generic SVGA/VESA monitor. The last two monitors work but it seems that most 14" monitors don't. Any suggestions?

All I can say is that I have the Impression Plus working with 3dsr4 and a Nanao F750i monitor. I use the MGA drivers supplied by Vibrant, release 1.05.P1. The driver is simply called MGA, and is near the bottom of the list. I have it running 1280×1024 at 256 colors. Andrew.
