Reid, I have been trying furiously to get a copy of your Korg DS-8 protocol for Music-X. I finally logged on to the Arvada BBS and immediately signed up. The message stated that I would be approved within 24 hours. As you know, new members can't download. What you may not know is the difficulty I have experienced in trying to log on. It takes a lot of time and effort to do so. Either the line is busy or there is no carrier. In any event, I did manage to log on 4 days after I signed up and I still wasn't approved so I couldn't download the protocol file. Since I am calling from New York, I would not normally use a Colorado BBS. I just want the protocol file. Do you think you could either approve me right away so I can download it, or else contact me here so we can make other arrangements? Maybe I could leave you my phone number in E-Mail. Or maybe you could upload the file here. In the alternative, maybe you could just give me the text strings for the protocol either over the phone or by uploading it here. I have already written my own protocol, but am having some trouble with sending patches. The information that must be entered into the protocol isn't really that long. I don't mean to sound impatient and I really appreciate being able to use your protocol; however, I still haven't been able to get it after all this time. Please advise as to your next move. Thank you, Dom Fontana

Dom, Sorry bout the long delay- I too have plenty of things keeping me away from CIS AND my BBS. I am sure you are now validated on my BBS, though I have not uploaded the DS-8 protocall on the board. If you would like, I definitly can upload it here on Saturday or so. I will write up a text file explaining just how the protocall works, as it is fancied up a bit. Otherwise, I can install it on my system so you can get it there. It _is_ a very busy system these days- being rated the #1 Colorado board is the cause for that! I think the reason you could not connect was due to a strangly locked up BBS that required a re-boot. Sometimes I don't catch this and my co-sysops have to call me on voice to reset it. Anyway- lemme know where you would like me to place the protocall! SOONER or later you will get it! Reid Bishop

Reid, Eureka! Glad to hear from you. I hope I haven't seemed too pushy. I'm just very anxious to get the protocol. Since my last message, I've logged on to your BBS a number of times. I've been communicating with Ben Scott and Jeff Segor. While they were both helpful, they had no idea where the protocol was. It would probably be better to upload the protocol here on CIS. I'm not certain what you meant in your message. Did you want me to choose between you uploading the actual protocl file or a text file explaining how I could write it myself? Or were you saying that you'll upload both the protocol and a doc file? I'll leave you my phone number in E-Mail. If you don't want to make the call, you can leave me your number and I'll call you. Tomorrow, Saturday is a perfect day. Thanks for your help. Dom Fontana

If this is a protocol for Music-X I would greatly appreciate it if you would upload it to DL10 here. I will "validate" it and make it available asap. —Mike
