We're working on a fax system for ALL the Amigas, not just the 2000. It
attaches at the serial port, and provides both Group III fax and a 1200
baud standard telecomm modem. It will be 3-4 weeks yet.
Glad to hear about the new Fax system !!! And it will even work with
my 1000…(beaming from ear to ear). A big question though…Does it have
a passthrough for the serial port?? And also, will it handle 9600 baud
speed ? I would really like some specs as soon as available. It's about
time someone did this for Amy.
1) It does not have a serial port passthru. It does, however, have an
integral datacomm modem…. that should help a bit (pun intended). 2) It
runs 4800 baud, max. 9600 baud may be availble in the future. 3) You can
use a serial switch with it, if you like – that provides a means to "pass"
the serial port with minimum pain. We'll announce it here (of course) when
it is ready to go.
