AMAXII survives Reboot

J. Scott, What is you opinion of Prodigy? I tried it for a little while but
felt that it was mostly advertising and that, I can watch on television,
and that is what I told their accounting department when they tried to bill
me for the first time.

Chris,
Tell you the truth, the real reason I got Prodigy was so I could prove
to myself that I could go out, buy stock Mac software, plug it into my Mac
drive and have it run. It did. I rarely call Prodigy, I think it's pretty
bogus. Maybe I should cancel it too but I hate closing doors.
Scott
J. You actually paid for Prodigy? They sent it to me for free, else I would
never have bought it! Yes it did work on 1.0 of AMAX although I had to go
into the programmer's debug window and enter some code that was supplied to
me by Readysoft. I still don't know what I typed in to the window, but I
did learn how to get rid of the dern thing. Just type a [G] for get out of
here!

Chris,
I hadn't thought about it but you're right, I got it free as well. I
still have to pay $10-12 per month to keep it though since it is flat fee.
The debugger code tricks the Prodigy software into thinking there is a SCSI
port present as this is how Prodigy decided to test versions of Macs (later
versions all have SCSI ports??).
