#Better monitor help

We are considering replaceing our Commodore 1084 monitor. As we use our
system for video, we want a unit that will accept NTSC video as well as
RGB. Can anyone give any suggestions for a unit with a better display than
the 1084?
You do know that the 1084 will accept composite video, right? There's an
RCA jack on the back labelled something really obvious like "CVBS/L" or
some darned thing; you can connect NTSC to that and select "CVBS" on the
front panel and it will display an admitedly mediocre but quite viewable
image. There's no comb filtering, so the dot crawl is hideous, but then
again that might be better than having all kinds of chroma cleanup
circuitry so it looks great on that monitor and then looks awful on a TV
set…
Even if you're getting a better monitor it would work in the interim…

Oh, yes. we use the NTSC input on the 1084 all the time. In fact thats the
one thing I like about it. I can switch between the RGB and video input via
a switvch on the front. Whatever I upgrade to will have to have this
feature. Thanks.
