I am having trouble with 3DS3 in video post. Trying to composite geometry over captured video frames with the DPS PAR. Apparently 3DS3 is not recognising the PAR board .ANI file as individual TARGA files and will only render the animation over the first frame of the video only. I have not been able to get satisfactory responses from Autodesk or Digital Processing Systems. Any info will be most helpful. Thanks. Brian

Are you using an IFL to get the frames from the PAR? Try that and it should work. CR

You must use an IFL file. You also need to use the DPSPAR PXP routine. You can not do this while network rendering. In the PXP you need to select "File" The ani file must be properly named with four letters followed by four zeros. as in ABCD0000.ani Use rename in the PAR.exe to change this if you need to. Everything must be in your maps path. Create the IFL by typing MAKEIFL.EXE ABCD ABCD 0 149 for a 150 frame IFL file named ABCD.ifl and referencing the ani file named ABCD0000.ani on your PAR. NOTE TO SYSOP: Do we have a text file for this procedure in the libraries? If not, we need this procedure documented as many have this question and we have to answer it at least once a week.

Thanks for the help, I'll give it another try. I was told by our Autodesk dealer and by someone at Digital that there was some kind of problem. If this works, it may not be as straight forward a process as one might expect with software at this level, but it's better than if it didn't work at all. I did a search or two previously, but turned up nothing in the libraries. Again, thanks for the assistance.. Brian
