SBPro4

Thanx Tim, my friend (also a Tim) says that because under SBPRo4 he can't
access certain records which were accessible under SBPro3 that he has had
to go back to using SBPro3. In other words his experience is that there is
some sort of minor file incompatibilities that mean that not all his
records are accessible. He amintains a lage database for mailing purposes,
and is running an AMiga 3000 and version 2.04 of the OS. I know its not
much to go on but have you any advice? Regards Ken
What happens when he attempts to access (presumably read) these records?
Does he get an error? if so what. Has he tried switching indexes and then
accessing the record? Can he access the record using a blank query?
We're pretty confident in the functionality of our database engine, so it's
much more likely that there's a file or index error that just doesn't show
up under 3.02.
The bottom line is, if none of my above suggestions will work, can you get
an extract of the database (not too big – I'm running 2400 baud!) that can
be read in 3.02 but not 4V1.01 and email it to me. Confidentiality of data
will be respected.
Tim.
Thanx Tim, I will talk to Tim and try and determine it all a little more
May well need to give you a bit as you suggest. I am only running 2400 too
so don;t dismay Regards Ken
