Your best chance of getting your US Video card to work is to purchase a
driver from Panacea, (800)729-7420. Another company that may have a driver
for you is Vibrant Graphics at (800)937-1711. Currently, there doesn't
appear to be a freely available VESA driver that works with the US Video
card, though many have tried.

Thanks, Grant. I'll give Panacea a call today. Are there any suggestions
for a well-working combo of VGA with genlock and added sound to animator
pro? Has anyone had experience with the Microkey boards from Video
Associates working with animator pro? Thanks Emily
I have a USvideo board with the Zymos BIOS. I am using the Apian VESA BIos
extne extension BIOS and I am having no problem with animator pro. I can
output to video and have had no system hangups. Try the Apian VESA extended
BIOS.
Game&parks: Thanks – will try the Apian VESA extended bios. What monitor
are you using? Is it a fixed or multi-variable type? Can I get 640 x 480 x
256 colors on a regular fixed VGA monitor, or must I have a multi frequency
type? Emily
I have an NEC Multisync plus monitor. Check your monitor manual or consult
manufacture to see what modes are supported. I would think you should be
able to get the resolution you want.
Are you using the Genlock Overlay Module. I just got one and can't get it
to work. Help!!!
I also use the Appian driver. It seems to be the only one that works,
although, as usual, my USVideo 640x480x256 screen is off to the upper
right.
Lawrence: No. Am not using genlock. Have not even been able to get 640 x
480 x 256 with any drivers I've tried, including the Appian. Am very
dissappointed in US Video card, and suspect something is wrong with my
card. You know that US Video is out of business – at least they do not
answer their phone lines? Will keep trying – VESA is sending me another

Emily, I think that some people have been able to get the Appian drivers to
work, but others have not. My guess is that US Video changed either the
chipset or the VGA bios roms at some point causing this descrepency. If
you want a sure fire method of getting the US Video to work, you should
consider purchasing drivers from Panacea or Vibrant for AA Pro.

Thanks, Grant. That explanation fits! I do have one VESA driver coming that
may work, but it looks like I better seek new board combos to work with ani
pro. The chip set in my US video board is Trident 8800 – I'm told by
Trident that this is old stuff and they have an 8900 now that is better. If
you have any suggestions about successful VGA-sound combination of boards
to run ani pro, I'd appreciate it. Am looking into Video Associates
MicroKey/A and associated boards by their company. It seems to me that by
dealing with one manufacturer, I may have fewer problems setting up than by
having a VGA from one and genlock, sound, etc from some other. Appreciate

The first time I tried using the Genlock board I couldn't get it to work
either. The company had installed the module and didn't get a couple of
jumpers on right. VERY CAREFULLY check the jumper settings. Also, use the
software included to put it into overlay mode. But, if and when you get it
working you'll be very ticked off at the lack of quality of the genlock.
Try the APVESA Appian driver. That's what I use with my USVideo board.
By the way, Does anyone use the Genlock Overlay Module? I just got one and
can't get it to work. Help!!!!
