Is it possible to run ANI PRO under a DESQVIEW window? I can't seem to
make it work in the 640×480 mode. When I switch back it comes up in 16
color mode and the screen is distorted. And/or possible to run something
like Side Kick Plus or the PC TOOLS.

Thomas – I think the only way you can do what you want with Desqview is to
obtain a driver for your graphics card. Some do have higher res drivers, but
many don't.
You could also try pursuing this in Quarterdeck's own forum, which is Section 1
of the PCVENB Forum. Someone there can probably give you some more ideas…

Thanks for the response. I obtained a driver from the AUTODESK lib
that got me up in 640×480 – VESA.ZIP in the drivers lib. After some
thought I wonder if I just don't have enough memory. Now I have
5 meg – might need more(?) It's just that I like to be able to
jump into a program to make notes etc while working.
Thanks for the DESQVIEW suggestion. I will check it out right away.

Tom – I don't know enough about Desqview to know whether memory is a problem
or not. I run AutoCAD and Wordperfect in DV windows, but AutoCAD runs at VGA
res. I only do it this way when I'm writing; when I do production drafting I
don't run DV because I need high res.
I haven't noticed any other DV users jumping into this thread so there may
just not be any on this forum. There are one or two on the ACAD Forum,
though, so you may want to troll for help over there too.

PS – Oh yeah, AEC TM… TM stands for thread master, which is a kind of
junior assistant sysop responsible for whipping threads into line, gathering
the interesting ones into files and uploading them to the libraries, and so
forth. The AEC part stands for Architecture/Engineering/Construction which is
the particular area I focus on over in the ACAD Forum.
Hi Thomas, the vesa driver doesn't do anything for Desqview. You'll need a
VESA aware driver for Desqview or a Desqview driver for you're particular
VGA card. I don't know if any of those exist.
If you like to make notes, there is a great little text file editor in the
Poco/Program menu. It's simple, but could do the job for you.
