Gayle, I've bought stuff from Altex–they're great. Immediate delivery, and if there are any problems they replace without question. Marion CROSSINGS (Newsletter for the Bridgeboard)

Marion, The DEMO-2000X ordered from Alex Electronics in San Antonio, TX is a Rambank made by Diamond Electric Instrument Company. It can take up to 2 Meg of DRAMS. I got a quote just recently from Dalco Electronics (800) 445-5342 for $1.25 each for 100 ns and 120 ns 41256's. The manual says 150 ns and 200 ns DRAMS are fast enough. It can backfill conventional memory if needed, and the rest goes to expanded memory. Software on theincluded diskette has EMS40.SYS and EMS32.SYS, a memory tester, 2 print spoolers ( one for conventional and one for expanded memory), 2 virtual diskette drivers (again one for conventional and one for expanded memory), and a help program. Combining this Rambank with the AST SixPakPlus and the DRDOS 5.0 (6.0 when I get it) should make a nice upgrade. Feel free to quote this (with editing if necessary) in your newsletter if it suits you. I look forward to testing it out and will keep you all posted! Thanks! Sincerely, (Mr.) Gayle Lee Fairless 'Perfessor Fearless
