#AT&T 6300 Plus Drivers

I have recently aquired an AT&T 6300 Plus. I wish to used it as a
printer/plotter spooler. Do you know where I can get the appropriate
drivers to run ACAD Version 10 on the AT&T 6300 Monitor? Would you also
know where I can get printer/plotter spooler software?

There is a special version of R10 for the 6300, but I wouldn't recommend it
as its the last version we will ever do. The 6300 does CGA and you can
find the CGA driver in the obsolete directory on your ACAD driver disks.

the AT&T 6300(8086 based cpu) and 6300+(286 based CPU) do CGA plus their
own special 640x400x2 mode. I think what he wants is a driver that
supports the AT&T 640×400 2 color mode (which is very similar to the same
mode supported by some Compaq and Toshiba machines from several years back.
Yes, that mode is available in the R10 version made specifically for the
AT&T 6300, but I don't recommend getting it because there will never be any
upgrades for it. Its an 8086 based machine, and we've abandoned that level
of processor with R11 and subsequent releases of AutoCAD. Really, with the
price of AutoCAD close to 6x that of a used XT, attempting to run on those
platforms causes all sorts of weird thoughts in my head.

I think the user was asking about a 6300 PLUS, which is a 80286 machine.
However I do agree with you, in the long run the user would be much better
off to upgrade to a 386 or better yet a 486 system.
If you spend the bucks for ACAD, you really ought to give it a good
computer to run on.
I thought the AT&T 6300 Plus has a strange CGA card that is not supported
by AD? Could you please check this.

The CGA emulation mode of the card is support by AutoCAD's CGA drivers.
Our AT&T 6300 version of AutoCAD R10 supports the enhanced graphics mode of
the 6300.
