Thanks for your reply and your absolutely right, my situation does call
for a storyline. My problem is the script comes from someone with no experience
writing. I'm handed paper with words and I'm to develope the images.
Our shop is small and the system I work with is basic. Money is slim
and so I make use of what I have. No others here work in videography and what
I've learned I learn hands on.
I'm hoping to connect my ablity with the forums knowledge, to combine
our interests into a profitable career and future. My knowledge will then be
past on to those who have need of help (that is if I keep employment).
The amount of info to digest is overwellming, lighting, camera,
graphics, editing, the list is endless. I read many trade magazines while
gathering all the info I can. Now I find this forum which is a wealth of minds.

mourning an idea come to mind, maybe a pro would read my script and critic what
I have to work with or add some suggestions. Would you happen to know anyone
who might help?? I have very limited resources here in the shop and I'd like to
learn the best use of this equipment. At least make video with some FLASH.

OK my advice would be to ( time permiting ) do a rewrite of the script and
use you creativity to spice it up. Show it to your client and get his/her
reaction. You might be told to just shut up and do what your told :-)) or you
might prove to this person that you acctualy know what you are doing. Although
most corperate types think they are the only ones privy to knowledge, they have
been known to change :-)))

Well don't feel alone. I have learned the same way you have. I have a
mountain of trade magazines that I still go back to for ideas and tips. Don't
sell youself short just because you don't have a degree in broadcast.

Well you are welcome to my help anytime you need it, but in all honesty I
am only a part time profesional. Most of the work I do ( weddings and a few
corperate now and again ) have not paid enough to realy get to full time Video
Work. I still drive a dump truck for a local paving contractor during the day.
Although by aquiering a Video Machine I have moved to a new level and hopfully
things will change.

That's where I get by with alittle help form my friends, overcoming the
lack of the "oldboy network" developed in college is possible only thru people
like you. I'm tring to network with others to boost my creativity. I only know
so much and I crave more.

this field (DTV) only pass judgement on what you produce not who you know.

adderess on
CIS I'll take you up on that suggestion. Do I use a word processor to save
ASCII text file and download to your NUM adderess on CIS ?? I'm getting into
the paperless thing. :-]]

From that statement I'd guess that you aren't using an offline navigational
program for CompuServe. If that is the case, you should really look into using
one — it'll greatly reduce your online costs, or allow you to get MUCH more
content for the same cost.
If you're using your Amiga to call CompuServe, check out AutoPilot, if a PC,
then look at TapCIS and OzCIS.

Well I wish I could help ya out on this one, but to tell the truth I am not
shure how to send a file to a specific CIS user 🙁 But I am shure someone will
chime in here and enlighten the both of us. As far as what format to
use…..ASCII would probably be the safest. I also use Microsoft Works as a
word prossesor if you have a copy of that.

For what it is worth…..Trust me when I say that thoes are the type of
folks that no money in the world is enough to work with. :-))

Michael and Shawn,
I use a little trick to email stuff to somebody. I don't know if it will
help but, here it is.
I get on to the forum where I know the guy from and do a;
rs;f;guysname;0
(read search;from;guysname;start at message 0)
to find the first message I can, from him. Then I reply to the message,
typing in whatever I want to mail him. When I am done replying, at the
post action prompt I type "mail" and off it goes.
Now, also, the official way to do it, I guess is to right down the guys
user id number and then "go easy".

This is a search routine, am I right. Where is it issued from? Sounds like

Ain't life grand so many helpful people, Both SYSOPS have sent along
helpful tips I'll have to try. Being new to transfer of info I have many new
things to play with :-}

Well I have no choice this is the only job I've got and I'm probably lucky
at that.
