Does anyone know where I can obtain a video board that will run a Macintosh
monitor at 24FPS. I want to film the screen, with sync sound and then transfer
to video. Any help would be appreciated.

I think the better solution might be to buy an encoder that would output
the MACs RGB screen as a video signal. Is there any reason why you would
want to film the screen as opposed to using this technique? Also, why are
you wanting to work at 24fps if your finished product will be video which
is at 30fps?

First, the reason that converting the Mac signal to RBG won't work is that the
monitor that matches the computer won't accept RGB and running a video
play-back unit would require a video operator on a union shoot.
Second, we film at 24FPS for the computer screen because the rest of the show
is done ay 24FPS and the producer wants all film to be consistant.
Any other ideas?

Ok. I didn't realize that the monitor would be part of a scene. What you
might try is using a "long-persistance" RGB monitor on the MAC. This will
reduce the flicker considerably.

Hi, I'm real new to video and digital video, but I come from prepress and
computer graphics. I just read the book, MacWeek Guide to Desktop Video by Erik
Holsinger – ZDPress and in it he described the process used for incorporating
Mac images into Jurassic Park.
They had some hardware guy rig up the boards with a different oscillator so it
could run the same speed for the 24 fps.This book came out in late '93 so
perhaps new stuff has happened?

Thanks for the info. I know what needs to be done to film a computer screen, I
was hoping someone would know where I could get a 24FPS video board.
