Hi, I have just joined this forum and I am interested to find out what hardware/software I need to superimpose text/graphics onto pre-recorded camcorder film. If any one can help me with this it would be appreciated. Thanks

If you own a PC, you can use a genlocking video card. You run the footage from your source tape into the card, use PC graphics software to add titles, then the combined signal is sent to a recording VCR. The card I currently recommend is the VGA Producer Pro from Magni Systems. You can find my review of that unit under the filename VGAPRO.TXT in Libray 2 of this forum. It includes software to perform the titling functions. James Bell Jr. — Multimedia Contributor – CompuServe

Thanks very much for this info James. Does the footage have to actually go through the computer, or is there an external way of achieving this effect. ( I have a notebook ) Adrian Fisher.

I have not encountered any external genlock systems for IBM-type PC systems. All of them that I know of are internal. James Bell Jr. — Multimedia Contributor – CompuServe
