#Text to film
4 messages in this thread
Hi, I have just joined this forum and I am interested to find out what
hardware/software I need to superimpose text/graphics onto pre-recorded
camcorder film. If any one can help me with this it would be appreciated.
Thanks
If you own a PC, you can use a genlocking video card. You run the footage from
your source tape into the card, use PC graphics software to add titles, then
the combined signal is sent to a recording VCR.
The card I currently recommend is the VGA Producer Pro from Magni Systems. You
can find my review of that unit under the filename VGAPRO.TXT in Libray 2 of
this forum. It includes software to perform the titling functions.

Thanks very much for this info James. Does the footage have to actually go
through the computer, or is there an external way of achieving this effect.
( I have a notebook )
Adrian Fisher.
I have not encountered any external genlock systems for IBM-type PC systems.
All of them that I know of are internal.
