What have you all seen as some of the better pricing available for the Sony Laser Library kit? My current best was from Electronic Boutique (800-800-0032), of 599.99. Also as posted in another message in this forum, has anyone seen the internal model referred to in the PC Mag article as the CDU-535 with the 6 disks? I think that someone else in the forum mentioned that he had modified the external version to fit internally, but I guess you lose the audio out capabilities by doing that (without some more modifications). Anyway what have you seen as far as pricing, and what do you think about the kit in general. (PC Mag obviously like it..) Jason

Jason, I purchased the Sony Laser Library package at J&R Computer World in New York (212 – 349-4727 or 212 – 732-8600) for $589.99. Installing the CD-ROM card is clearly outlined in the install documentation. Ditto for the software installation, it even warns you that if you want to install the Sony demo program that you will need approximately an additional 8Mb of hard disk space. One thing that I did notice is that I can't find an explanation of the driver command line parameters (I'll review the doc'c again.) I haven't had the time to run all the CD's that came with the package (purchased it on 10/10) but over all I think the package is a excellent value. I did appreciate the fact that Sony included a headphone set. I did a quick test of attaching a pair of Sony (Walkman) amplified speakers to the unit and was impressed with the sound quality. I tried the Sony model SRS27 (about $45) and the SRS55 ($75) I decided to go with the SRS55. Charlie
