I've got the same setup (TV) with the same problem. And GUIs were never meant for NTSC interlaced display. Neither Inscriber or Tempra are easy on the eyes in this environment. What really hurts is the illuminator allows selecting between underscan/overscan, so you're able to see what's offscreen, but only in < 640X480 modes. Images collected in these modes aren't very useful. I use Tempra only for image capture and have simply 'memorized' where the Files and Exit buttons are. It is inconvient in that I have to run it from DOS with Ilum 16 set up in a special mode.<<< Endless are the tribulations required to insure greater than 513K lower memory so Inscriber and Tempra can be run from the Personal Producer Tools menu. But what special mode do you mean? I can switch back and forth between PP, Tempra and Inscriber without reconfiguring Ilum 16. What DOS Beasty are you running? I assume you're capturing at > 640X480 and then processing the image down to a size the Ilum 16 and PP can handle? A couple questions: I'm running ver 1.1 which doesn't support EDL export, and its 'clip collection' database is all but unusable for managing large tape logs (no sorting; no searching by keyword, name or description; no text export/import). Has there been in 1.2, or does Matrox intend, any improvement in these areas? Patrick.
