Jonathan, I have a question regarding the Grid Control that you have put up here for us developers. But first I want to thank you for all of your time and effort that you put into this control, and also for all of the time that you put into this and other forums. Your comments are very helpful to us and I'm sure to many other developers. Now my question. We are experiencing a fairly random problem while tryig to select specific cells in the grid object. Sometimes(not all the time,) when we try to select a specific cell with the mouse, a range of cells is selected instead. Usually, if we just click another cell it works just fine for awhile(IOW-only one cell is selected, or highlighted.) This appears to only happen the first time that we click in the grid after the form is loaded. Have you experienced anything like this? Maybe I don't have some properties set correctly. I have the documentation that you wrote entitled "Explanation of the Grid Control". Is there anything else that you have written that may help me out, or documents the grid control further. Thanks in advance for any help that you can give me. This problem is not stopping my development efforts, although it is very irritating to the end users. There is 1 Reply.

Geoffrey, Yeah, I have come across the problem with the column select. I think it was supposed to be a feature but it went awry. I haven't had the chance to dig back into that mess. And no, there is no further documentation of the control at this time. Maybe, I'll have some time to spend with it next month! Eeep! -=- Jonathan

Charles, GRID2.ZIP contains the only explaination that I know of, of the grid control. Nelson Ford had uploaded some coding samples as well that you might want to take a look at. -=- Jonathan There is 1 Reply.

Check out HUGEGR.EXE and RANDGR.EXE on DL5. The first one ties a Huge Array into an Grid Control, the second one ties a random access file into a Grid. There is 1 Reply.

Jonathan, Well at least it looks like I'm not doing anything wrong. I'll keep looking for any updates to the Grid Object. Again Thanks for all of your hard work and the tremendous amount of time that you must spend helping people like me. There is 1 Reply.
