Hello One and All,
I have just finished a fairly heavy duty database app with VB and Quadbase
and it turned out great but know I am going to write an app which I will
try to resell with an install procedure it will be a specialized app … I
am sold on QuadBase … Just would like to get some opinions though as far
as other tools you think I should be looking into … like I hear about
MIcroHelp and VBTOOLS … I could use some help and info … Also has
anybody used VB SDK for SQL Server because if the site is large enough and
I may use a SQL Server …

If your interested in VB Tools and VB Muscle I would suggest downloading
the demos for each. I am an owner of VB Tools and it is well worth the
price (approx. $120). You get custom controls that far exceed those
provided with VB itself. For further information on the above mentioned
products, send a note to Mark Novisoff, he is president of MicroHelp Inc.
Since you are a user of Quadbase, can you give me your opinion of the
product. I am looking for a database add-on for VB, would this product fit
the bill….

Thanks for the advice … QuadBase is definitely great for all types of DB
apps with VB … There should be a demo you can download from here … Its
power is that it uses a SQL engine with Dbase format files … It also
retains alot of your favorite Dbase commands … Also it has its own
multi-user version which can be used with Novell networks … Its support
lines are great … It is also very fast … The other thing if you
ever decide to go to SQL Server since you are using a SQL engine alot of
your code will be portable … Just to be fair though there are some
similiar products out there like Pioneer DLL which is suppose to be very
good … I have looked through alot of them though and perfer QuadBase …

I have used VBSQL and Quadbase and they are both strong products.
However, if you have some desire to make your app move accross SQL
platforms than you should be looking at the Q+E Database Library from
Pioneer. They allow you to program to one API and talk to dBAse files,
Paradox, SQL Server and Oracle etc. That would definitely be the way to
