Mark: (1) I have an idea on a custom control. I would like to see the ability to create a "recessed" or "raised" line on a form. This is similar to what the Borland Resource Workshop does. This line allows you to separate items on the screen and helps create a more professional, "chisled steel" look. Your buttoms and 3-D labels are right up the alley – this would add to that functionality. (2) I just purchased VBTools 1.1 a couple of weeks ago. I keep seeing message threads about version 2.0. When will this be available? What the the additions to this version? And finally, what do I need to do to upgrade, and will it cost me anything (i.e. I just my 1.1 copy)? I think VBTools is great and look forward to hearing what 2.0 provides! Thanks, Mark! /Tom There is 1 Reply.

Thomas, I'm very pleased that you like VBTools! Thanks for the idea on the custom control. We have a "line" control spec'ed out for 2.0 and I'll pass your suggestion along. Everyone who purchases VBTools 1.0 from us, or had registered with us as of about 3 weeks ago received info on our "early access" program for version 2.0. I'll send details to you in the mail, OK? FWIW – we don't plan to release 2.0 until January. Thanks again. Mark There is 1 Reply.

Mark: Thanks! Anything I can do to try out/beta test 2.0 for you, I'd be happy to do. I'm starting to write a number of VB applications, and your product is making it not only to look better but easy to use and write. Keep up the good work. /Tom P.S. I'm really looking forward to 2.0!!!!! There is 1 Reply.

Mark: Thanks again for the info. I'm going to make a pitch for another custom control that I would like to see (maybe it's already being planned for 2.0, but if not, well, here goes): I was a Turbo Pascal fan for a number of years (still am, actually). However, once they went to OOP, I found myself alienated from them (OOP is great, I'm sure, but it's hard for a structured programmer like myself to get used to OOP – especially when there is NO good tutorials or training materials around!) Anyway, I had already had Turbo Pascal for Windows before I got VB – but I found VB MUCH more easier to use and understand – plus, with it's custom controls, a lot more integrated. Anyway, to make a long story short, I have their new Resource Workshop. In there they have FANTASTIC looking radio buttons and check boxes (ones that really display a check mark). Not only do they have their 3-D "chisled steel" look, but apps with them look really professional. Have you, or can you, or will you be including anything like that soon in VBTools 2.0? Along with your 3-D boxes and buttons, these two additional controls would allow us to create even better looking apps in VB! /Tom There is 1 Reply.

Tom, Thanks for the suggestion. We have a copy of the same product and we have definite plans for "borrowing" some of their ideas. Mark
