Yes, I would be extremely grateful for some more information !!
The application is actually a corporate phone book. General Indexing is
accomplished via indexes along the lines of :
Type Record
IndexText as String * 3:' First 3 letters of surname
Offset As Integer :' Offset in file (A.Txt -> Z.Txt)
End Type
and then jumping to the offset to start sequential reading !
