#DDE format

during a DDE communication I would like the server to send binary data (xxx. exe for example ); which format should I use ? CF_TXT doesn't seem appropria te . any ideas ? There is 1 Reply.

Proux, You data type must be a "standard or registered clipboard format." You are rarely going to transfer binary data via DDE. What is your specific application. Perhaps I can help you with a work-around. Is this data in memory or on disk? If it is on disk than text would be idea because you would simply pass the name of the file. Alternatively, you could pass the DOS handle to the open file. If it is in memory, perhaps you might want to pass the hMem to the memory that contains the data. Does any of this help? -=- Jonathan
