#CDTV, CD-I etc.

I work for Circuit City Stores, Inc … and 4 of our stores in the
DC market have the demo kiosk up and running. They are attracting
alot of attention … and Phillips has promised to have a rep at each
of the stores each weekend for the next six months demoing it. CDTV
is going to have a hard time beating this!
Ahh, but are people actually buying the players? We're still in a
recession, and no one knows yet how good/bad this Christmas season will be
for $$ gizmos.
Rob, I (for one) would love to know the general consumer reaction to CD-I.
Would you mind posting your pertinent sales 'commentary' on it as it
develops? ie. what type of people are *purchasing* it; what discs are
they getting; are these 'computer' people, or just ordinary folk;
etc…. You're a pretty good 'eye & ear' on this subject I'd think
🙂 If you don't mind, please post….
John,
No problem … We should be getting the actual players to sell in stock
very shortly. It will be interesting to see how/what tpye of people really
buy at that point.

Which stores here, Rob?
Beltsville? Rockville? Where?

To my knowledge, all Northern Virginia stores. I've seen it at Tyson's,
Springfield, & Bailey's Crossroads. I'm not sure which store is the fourth
– i'll check to see if it's in Maryland. I know it's not the new St.
Barnabus location.
