Can anyone recommend from experience the best math teaching software for
a 6 year old (first grader)?
I know of three titles:
Math A Magician
Math Blaster Plus
Math Wizard
but have not seen any of them. Recommendations anyone? Thanks!

I happen to have called Davidson & Assoc. today about there program "Math
Blaster Plus" which is a good math practice program for grades 1-4. It's
relatively bug free and fun but there is "no chance " of any upgrade. They
seem real pissed about ever having put out an Amiga program. I was calling
about 2.0 compatability since this is hard to find out about for kid
software. If you don't mind an orphan it is good and appleII and msds
versions are common.

I'll vouch for the "Math Blaster Plus" program. My kids love it and it is
actually rated ages 6 – 12.

Do you think the program is suitable for a 6 year old (I know it says ages
6-12, but since he's on the lower end of the spectrum, I thought I'd ask)?
He is just learning his adding and subtracting of 0-10 right now and hoped
this would help him out some without it going over his head so he loses
interest or gets frustrated.

Sample problems at level 1 of Math Blaster Plus look like this:

There is also an editor included… enabling you to create your own sets.
The program prints out attaboy certificates as the kids play "shoot down
the UFO and get the spaceman in the ship" type games. I think I paid about
$32 for it.
