Hello, I received my V2.04 today, but I see that I cannot backup my disk with Quaterback V4 and expect to restore those files after formatting my hard drive under V2.04. Can you send me the upgrade via email here? Thanks. Cheers, Paul (WA1OMM)

Paul, The only problem that V4 of Quarterback should have with Workbench 2.04 is that when you quit the program, the floppy drives are not released back to the system. V4.3 fixes this, but you can still use V4 under 2.04 to backup and restore. The only thing different that you will have to do is reboot after you exit the program. If you don't reboot and never use the floppies, you will never know the difference. Mark Central Coast Software

Does v4.2 have this problem as well? Harry

Harry, Yes, 4.0-4.2 does have the problem of hanging the drives on exit. 4.3 fixed that specifically. Mark New Horizons Software, Inc.

Mark: I just got my 2.04 stuff today, and AFTER (gulp..) I did a complete backup I read something in the docs from C= that says Quarterback before 4.3 have some sort of problem (and I've seen here from you that part of the problem is releasing the floppies back to ADos). I now see that I have Quarterback version 2.2 (Geez… guess I'm a bit out of touch…). Anyway, my question is: Can I go ahead and trust the backup I just did (65 floppies!), upgrade to 4.3, then restore my 2.2 backup using 4.3? Oh, and how much is the upgrade from 2.2 (If you've already answered that a gazillion times, I'm sorry…)? I'm hung out here, so your response will be greatly appreciated. Steve Anderson

I'm about to upgrade to 2.04 and was wondering if I could use Quarterback v1.4 to backup my harddrive under 1.3 and restore under 2.04??? Versia Hilliard

Versia, I simply do not know if Quarterback 1.4 works under 2.04 or not. I would bet that it does not. I would suggest upgrading to the current version. That would be $25 plus the original disk. You can send that to: Central Coast Software P.O. Box 164287 Austin, TX 78716 Mark Central Coast Software

Mark, I understand the upgrade cost for quarterback 2.2 to 4.3 is $10 in the states. Same cost for Canadians? Who do we make the money order out to – Central Coast or New Horizons? 73, Kelly
