#Anyone with a laser pri
9 messages in this thread
Any one out there own Pro Page 3.0 and a 300DPI laser printer. I need 2
sheets printed on the laser for a brochure, and my ink jet just won't cut
it quality wise. I will be willing to pay for shipping and $10 a sheet (2
sheets to print).

Dave, Why not just print postscript output to a disk file and take it to a
local service bureau? If you don't have CrossDos get MultiDOS here in the
libs, copy the postscript file to a MS-DOS formatted 720K disk and carry it
to a service bureau. Pay less than $3 a page and if you know how to use
self-serve pay less. I'd be happy to print it for you, but I'm about 3000
miles away from my equipment at the moment B^).

Wow! Are you _still_ on the west coast? What are you waiting for to come
home? Winter? <g>
Michael,
It is tough leaving this side of the country! Every 10 feet I see at least
five women more attractive than the last five, during the previous 10 feet
of travel! Besides that, I've enjoyed the 'shaker' Margaritas in a little
restaurant/bar near Venice called "The Endless Summer". I still can't get
used to sitting on an outside deck at night and being warmed by 'outside'
overhead heaters!
Last week I was in Phoenix as you know, we went to a club there called
"JETZ", this place did the opposite of heating the outside, they were
'misting' the deck with overhead water jets! Still the margaritas were
better in Marina del Rey. But even this vacation must come to an end and
I'll be on a flight out of LAX on Monday headed for Phfilthadelphia,
[sigh]. Guess it will be another five years before I see my 'left'coast
friends again. By then they'll probably have a five year old child.
Oh well, maybe one more piece of cheesecake at the "CHEESECAKE FACTORY"?
Chris
Chris,
Hang the equipment! Stay in Venice! 😉
Malcolm
Malcolm,
"….stay in Venice…"
Please send Western union as much $$$ as you can spare, and then some, I
will then be able to do what you request.
Make it payable to me,
thanks,
🙂

Chris,
If I had anything like money, I'd BE in SoCal. I love LA! <sigh>

I don't have PPage 3.0, I have PPage 1.3, but do have a 300 dpi postscript
printer.
However — you can "print postscript to file", and then put the resulting
file on disk, or send it over a modem, etc. to someone with the output
device you want to use (mine, for example). I'm in Alexandria,Va, and
would be happy to ouput for you free (so long as you don't need anything
bigger than 8.5" x 11" or 14". OTOH — there might be someone closer to
you -maybe in the same town, if you aren't by coincidence near me. In
fact, there are a _lot_ of service bureaus that could do this. They don't
even have to have an Amiga, if you have CrossDos or Dos2Dos, and can get
the file onto a 740K MSDOS formated disk. Just about all print shops and
typesetting service bureaus can take such a disk. Similarly, just about
any of them can take it via modem, as well, if the file is too big.
Remember, you can also compress the file to make it smaller. Just about
everybody can handle either an ARC'd or ZIP'd file (utilities for these
compression techniques are in the forums here — ARC.exe for ARC, and
PKAZIP.??? for ZIP).

Thanks to everyone responding to the ad to print my stuff…but I found a
guy local to do it.
