I have a project coming up where I will need to use a good authoring software
and I am looking to use GRASP. Does anyone here know if Animator Pro or 3D
Studio will work well with GRASP? Does anyone here use GRASP? It would help
to know what rates I should charge for authoring. Is there a forum on
Compuserve anywhere that deals mostly with GRASP? (I am not geared to *only*
using GRASP, if anyone has any other ideas, that would be great) Thanks.

The short answer is Yes.
I haven't fired up GRASP for a couple of months, but the last time I did, I
was displaying TGA's, GIF's, and FLC's all of which were generated in 3DS.
Very easy, very clean.
You may already know this but GRASP is supported in the Graphics Vendor A
forum, section 3. I think that you can also GO GRASP.

Steven thanks for the reply! As I mentioned to Jim Lammers, I may need to sub
this job out or give it over completely if it appears I cannot do it myself.
Would you be interested? What are your rates if so? If not, what might you
suggest a good rate would be for a job of about 15 screens (this may very well
be an interactive environment). Thanks.

I do. I'm doing a project right now, a single disk interactive promotion thing.
Since GRASP can work directly with FLI files, yes I use 3DS with it. I have the
latest standard (non-MM) version.

Ahh, found you! I knew I had discussed this with someone earlier, but I've
changed from Wincim to NavCis, lost all my mail in the process. What kind of
rates do you charge?
There may be the possibility that I will have to either sub this out or even
hand it over completely to someone else. I am VERY determined to get this job
done by myself, but I also realize there is a reality 🙂 Let me know if you
may be available.. or if anyone else may be too. Thanks.

James, I'd be interested in working on your project. I can use GRASP or
Director for Mac or Windows. Depending on the interaction involved it sounds
like a day or so of work @ $50/hr if all of the material is provided to me.
